The Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) had a secret phone line reserved for an emergency calls for any Russian Attack.
In one morning of December in 1955, Col. Harry Shoup received as call but it wasn't any emergency but a little voice which asked, "Is this Santa".
This was a result of an ad in a newspaper to urge kids to call Santa that had trouble with one of the digits in the published phone number and directed the call to the Agency.
