The Russian Orthodox Church and its members believes that divinations is an evil act but when you do it Christmas it's just okay.
The 6th of January translate to the 25th of December in the Julian Calendar. From this day up to the 19th, called the Sviatski, is considered by the Russians to be the safe days to perform rituals and divinations to expel bad luck and forces of evil to the coming year.
